Fashion Seekers: Spooky Edition Contest!

Welcome to a new Fashion Seekers community contest! As an Astroneer of the ESS Starseeker crew, you're cordially invited to show off your spookiest spacesuit fashion!

FASHION SEEKERS?

Not long after the launch of STARSEEKER Early Access, we ran a small fashion contest for the community on our Discord server, and it was a ton of fun! We saw some amazing and very creative submissions that stretched the versatility of the game's suit Customizer beyond even what some of the folks who made the game thought was possible.

With that in mind, we want to do it again! And this time, we've got a few more bells and whistles, including a Log-In reward around which this contest is themed:

Log-In for your FREE Carrot Rage Mask!

Make sure to log in to STARSEEKER before the end of October (Pacific Time) to receive the free Carrot Rage Mask in your Inbox! This cosmetic item is the perfect thing to spookify your spacesuits and scare your squadmates. And the neat thing is that, as a Mask, you can freely reposition these rage-filled eyes around your head and resize them, so get creative!

We thought it would be a big help for your contest submissions, though you're not forced to use it in your submissions in case you have other spooky ideas in mind.

Participation Reward and Prizes 

For everyone who participates in this Fashion Seekers contest, we have some fun participation rewards! After the submission period ends, we'll send all participants the leek-themed "Funion" Visor and "Leek Chic" Palette to your in-game Inbox.

Winners will not only win the Leek set's "Greenhorn" Hat, but also 2,000 Credits that can go toward buying any cosmetics of preference in the EXO Outlet.

About the Leek Set 

We've brought this set over from ASTRONEER specifically to be used as a reward for STARSEEKER community events and contests like this one. Those of you who follow the community will understand the leek meme, and if you don't then join our next livestream! This is just the first opportunity to earn these cosmetics; we plan to have more in the future.

The Greenhorn Hat is meant to be a rarer reward saved for winning prizes, but we also plan to give one or more of these away during our livestreams. Follow our Twitch channel to be notified when the next stream happens. We generally try to do one every couple of weeks.

This contest is being run once more on our community Discord server. If you wish to participate, you will need to join the server, but no hard feelings if you'd like to exit once the contest has ended and the winners have been announced (maybe we'll win you over).

How To Participate

• Simply share a screenshot of your STARSEEKER Astroneer in the #starseeker-media channel with the following:
• • 1) The hashtag #FashionSeekers.
  • 2) Your in-game Username (refer to the image above to find it).
  • 3) Your submission screenshot, plus screenshots of your Hat and Mask placements for any players looking to try and match your look (example images included above).
  • Optional: You can also add up to a paragraph explaining the theme of your submission.
• You can submit as many entries as you like, but you can only win once.
• Submissions end Sunday, October 18th, at midnight PDT. Winners will be announced by Friday, October 30th, 2026.

Formatting Matters: Please enter your submissions with your information in the requested order and with a space between them, like this: #FashionSeekers Username Optional-description. It won't disqualify you if you get the order wrong, but it will make it easier to manually process all submissions if they're in the right order. 

How to take screenshots:

• On PC: Hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard, usually around the top right side. This may be saved in your Pictures folder, or you may need to paste it in an image editing app like MS Paint and save it.
• On Xbox Series X|S: Check the guide to capture screenshots and how to share them.
• On PS5: Check the guide to capture screenshots and how to share them.
• On Nintendo Switch 2: Check the guide to capture screenshots and how to share them.

What We're Looking For

"Spooky" is this contest's theme, but you can still submit non-spooky submissions. Winners will be chosen by a panel of System Era judges based on the following:

• Creative use of cosmetic items.
• Theming.
• Overall aesthetics.

Submissions should be centered, unedited, and in high resolution. Blurry images or pictures not taken with the screenshot function won’t be eligible.

What You Can Win

We will select 10 winners, each of which will win the "Greenhorn" Hat and 2,000 Credits. Additionally, we will also select a variable number of Honorable Mentions, all of which will win 1,000 Credits. As a reminder, like every other currency in STARSEEKER, Credits are earnable-only and can be used in the in-game EXO Outlet cosmetics store.

Superlative Winners

Just for fun, some of the same 10 winners will be awarded a "superlative" label, which includes: Spookiest, Most Creative, and Most Popular.

• The Spookiest and Most Creative superlatives will be assigned by the panel of SES judges. Try to theme your cosmetics to improve your odds.
• The Most Popular superlative label is chosen by you, the community. The submission with the most ⭐Star emoji reactions earns the label (or more than one if there’s a tie) and automatically becomes one of the contest winners.

FASHION SEEKERS CONTEST FAQ

What if I forget to include some of the requested information in my submission?
If you don’t include the #FashionSeekers hashtag, your Username, or your main submission image, then your submission is invalid. You can edit your post to make sure it includes all these things or try a new submission.

• The hashtag is to help us find your submission. The Username is so we can grant you your prizes.

How many submissions can I make?
You can submit as many entries as you like, but you can only win once.

Can I edit my submission screenshot?
No. Edited images or the use of filters will disqualify your submission. You can, however, crop images. Just don't crop them too small.

How do you define the winning criteria?
A panel of System Era judges will use the following criteria: Creative use of available items, Theming, and Overall aesthetics.

• If we’re surprised by a combination of items used in an unexpected way, then that will be a creative use of available items.
• Theming is achieved when all components of the suit complement each other toward a common theme, like an animal or trying to recreate a particular pop culture character. Call it out in your submission if this is the case.
• Overall, aesthetics is more subjective. It refers to whether everything together looks nice and visually pleasing.

Do submissions have to be spooky to win?
Nope! But it is the theme of the contest, so a great spooky submission will generally beat out a great non-spooky submission.

Can multiple players make a combined submission?
No, only one character submission per post is allowed.

Can I submit the same suit I used for the last Fashion Seekers contest?
Yep! Just know that it likely won't stand out as much as it did the first time, so consider mixing it up a bit first or trying something new.

Does using Emotes and showing a particular pose help the odds of winning?
Not necessarily, but if you’re trying to go for a specific theme, then holding a pose through the use of Emotes can help sell that look. If you think it will help, then go for it.

How do I earn the Most Popular label?
Players can vote for their favorite submissions by reacting with the ⭐Star emoji. The submission with the most Star emojis earns the label (or more than one submission if there’s a tie). You can react to your own submission with a Star to help others give the right reaction, but we won’t count votes for yourself.

If I win, how will I know?
We will announce winners in the #starseeker-news channel by Friday, October 30th, 2026. This means we might announce it sooner, depending on how soon our panel of judges can review all submissions. We may create temporary private channels on the Discord server and tag you if we require more information to grant you your prizes. Keep an eye out for notifications!

Can I gift my prizes to someone else?
Prizes will be granted directly to your account. Since this is the first opportunity to earn the Leek Set cosmetics, no one can win something they already own, but we'll take this into consideration for future contests and events.

Why aren't the participation rewards granted right away?
It's because these are manually being sent to the accounts of participating players. Once the submission period ends, we'll have the full list of participants to send these rewards to. We're aiming to have them sent within a day after the end of the submission period.

Will the appearance of my character get shared somewhere?
Yes, it's likely we will. By sharing your media on the #starseeker-media channel, you indicate that you give us permission to share your submission on our social channels. If you would rather we didn’t do so, please specify that in your submission. Unless specified otherwise, you will be credited by the Display Name you use in the Discord server. We won't share your in-game Username.
