Hey all! Joe here with a developer update! It has been only two weeks since our last game update, but enough has happened behind the scenes that we wanted to bring you all up to speed on the things that are coming to the game.
ICYMI – STATE OF THE GAME
As Adam mentioned in ‘State of the Game’ a few weeks ago, (watch above) we took your feedback to heart and immediately got to work on making big changes to the existing plan to double down on the areas where you are having fun and pull back on the places where you gave us good feedback. We are not quite ready yet to put out the fully revamped roadmap, but I do have some cool updates I want to share:

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO
We are working to bring more interesting and engaging content to the world. This new content will sit alongside the current Expedition structure, offering more collaborative, goal-oriented, repeatable gameplay. If you got to play the new Drill Field Op, that is absolutely a first look at what we are thinking... more challenging content that requires you to plan and collaborate. You might fail, but you will learn and come back even stronger.

Here are some fun screenshots that will help you understand where some of this content is going, as well as an early look at some potential changes to the station...

That being said, content like this needs an existential threat. We were always planning on introducing an "enemy" into STARSEEKER, but your feedback made us take a hard look at the timeline for when we planned to roll out these new entities. We will have much more information about them in our next Developer Update, but above is another image to get your imagination going...
I think it goes without saying, but all of this is in active development and subject to change. Still, we love when we get to share images that let you in on how things are going. Now let's talk about tomorrow’s update.

UPDATE 1.1.0 – SINKING REEF
Tomorrow is our next content update to the game: The Sinking Reef Update. This will unlock new Landing Sites in the Sinking Reef Region, new Crew Member Missions with new gear to unlock, add underwater Sea Lab landmarks to explore, and bring various improvements as well as fixes to the game.
Crew Member Missions
The Sinking Reef Update is the last content update to the game before we start adding some of the ideas in our pivot mentioned above. As we prioritize this new content, we'll be putting other content on the backburner for us to reassess later. Crew Member Missions are included in this, so the Missions added by this update are likely to be the last Crew Member Missions we add to the game for a while.
We're not getting rid of narrative!!! We will be exploring different ways to bring worldbuilding to players. As always, we will be paying close attention to your feedback and continuing to iterate.
FUTURE UPDATES
What is next? Expect a fully rolled out roadmap for the rest of the year alongside our next game update, coming in LATE AUGUST! It will include the first versions of the above content and a LOT of big changes so we can all playtest and the team can take feedback to keep growing the game.
Don't expect completely final implementation, this stuff was going to come out months from now and we pulled it forward because it was in line with what we were hearing from you all.
Okay, that is everything for now! The team has been working really hard to make sure you all know that we are committed to this game, and we will keep taking your feedback as we go further into Early Access. Talk soon!
